This Is Not an Exit: The Fictional World of Bret Easton Ellis

This feature arts documentary made for ITV and cinema release, This is not an Exit looks at the life of writer Bret Easton Ellis, the contemporary bad boy of American fiction and author of the seminal works Less Than Zero and American Psycho combining interviews and fly-on-the-wall footage of the writer at home and about in Los Angeles and New York with dramatised reconstructions from all his novels to reveal the inner world of the man and his fiction. The film takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to its subject featuring comic encounters with fellow writers Jay McInerney, Candace Bushnell and Will Self.
